TV&GWOT receives no statutory or public sector funding and its principal source of funding is from donations by private individuals who support its aims and objectives. TV&GWOT welcomes monetary donations of any amount and also donations of items related to its objectives and collection policies.

Monetary donations may be made by sending a cheque to ‘TV&GWOT’ at its registered office, Ledger Farm, Forest Green Road, Fifield, Maidenhead, Berks SL6 2NR using TV&GWOT’s

Regular donations can be made by PayPal using the button above or by standing order. A Donation Standing Order form can be obtained from TV&GWOT at its registered office or by email from enquiries@tvagwot.org.uk.

If you are a UK tax payer TV&GWOT can also benefit from Gift Aid as explained on the UK Government’s Direct Gov website as follows:

“When an individual, sole trader or partnership gives money to a charity through Gift Aid, then you (i.e. the charity) can take their donation – which is money they’ve already paid tax on – and reclaim basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.

If a donor is a higher rate tax payer, they too can benefit from the tax relief as they can claim back the difference between the higher rates of tax at 40 or 50 per cent and the basic rate of tax at 20 per cent on the total value of their gross donation.” For further information see: https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid

TV&GWOT has access to a significant collection of library, ephemera, archive material and associated road transport relics related to its objectives. It welcomes the donation of such items for its growing collection or, if surplus to its needs or outside its collection policy, for sale to raise funds to help to achieve its objectives. If you wish to make a donation of any potentially suitable material to TV&GWOT please contact us.

As a registered charity neither the Trust nor your beneficiaries need pay any inheritance tax on bequests from your estate. By making a bequest to TV&GWOT you will help preserve for future generations the transport heritage of the Great Western Road Motors and their successors operating bus services across the area formerly served by the GWR from Paddington to Penzance. You can leave a sum of money, a proportion of your estate or your collection of transport items. We recommend that you consult an expert before drawing up your will but suggest the following alternative forms of wording for you to consider:

I give the whole (or a percentage share) of the residue of my estate to the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust, Registered Charity No. 1125980 to be used for its general charitable purposes.

I give free of tax the sum of £________ (in figures and words) to the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust, Registered Charity No. 1125980 to be used for its general charitable purposes.

I give my collection of transport memorabilia and ephemera to the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust, Registered Charity No. 1125980, to be retained or disposed of at the discretion of its trustees in furtherance of the Charity's general objectives.
(Note that in such instances it can be helpful to your Executors and to ensure your intentions are followed if you list or indicate the location of the items you wish to bequeath).

In all instances it is wise to add: The receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the said Trust shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.
