The Trust organises regular displays and vintage bus running days, where you are able to enjoy a wide range of vehicles in their former habitats.

At our running days, you observe first-hand how the vehicles performed in service and build your own sense of how bus and coach travel has developed through the generations.

Our events have gained a nationwide reputation for authenticity and adventure, recreating the full experience of road transport in bygone days. They have become established, popular attractions for local communities and enthusiasts alike.

Why not come along to enjoy the scene and join us for a free bus ride, where possible?

Our principal events for 2021 were:

Penzance & West Cornwall Vintage #busflyby - Sunday 18 April 2021
Due to COVID restrictions, our usual Penzance Running Day was replaced in 2021 by a socially-distanced road run for locally-based vintage buses and coaches, bringing some well-deserved smiles to the people of West Cornwall as they passed by. Enjoy footage on Facebook or find further details on the event page.

Royal Blue NOTC Centenary+1 Run - Friday 18-21 June

The Royal Blue long distance coach run doubled as a celebration of the centenary+1 of the National Omnibus & Transport Company (formed on 13 February 1920) and 140 (+1) years since the foundations for Royal Blue were set in 1880.  The concept, successfully delivered, was to visit the principal NOTC operating hubs across the breadth of England as well as the home of Royal Blue in Bournemouth. TVT Co. Centenary+1 - Sunday 11 July

The Thames Valley Traction Company centenary was on 10 July 2020. Although Covid restrictions precluded a public gathering to mark the Centenary+1 in 2021, TV&GWOT took TV 446 (DBL154) on a tour of locations significant to the company’s history. Click here for highlights.

Kingsbridge Vintage Bus Running Day & Bristol SU60+1 - Saturday 18 September

The South Hams again saw vintage buses covering traditional routes to beautiful coast and country destinations.  Well-served by the Bristol SU, the marque’s 60th anniversary in 2020 was celebrated one year on with SUs out in force.  The 164 Totnes-Kingsbridge-Salcombe through service now operated by Tally Ho Coaches with GWR and Devon County Council support also featured retracting the routes first started by GWR Road Motors more that a century ago.

In addition to these and other events organised by the Trust for Supporters, our vehicles also attend events across the country throughout the year. Details are published on the Home page and on our Facebook page.
