Penzance Bus Day Programme - POST-EVENT

It was a great day with free vintage bus rides from Penzance on Sunday 21 April 2024.  This souvenir programme puts the trips in historical context with a lavishly illustrated article explaining the local impact of bus service deregulation and privatisation in the 1980s.  Newly researched, the articles have lasting interest, like the mysteries around remote bus service destinations and the changing face of the Coverack bus shelter over nearly a century! Other pieces showcase the practical work carried out by skilled volunteers who maintain the vehicles and archives.
If you missed the event in 2024, there's still much to enjoy in the programme and if you've never been to a Penzance Vintage Bus Day it will give you a flavour of what to expect on 20 April 2025 when the buses offering free rides will return.
